Learn how to use Google Slides for more than just a standard slide show. This module will show you how to use Google Slides to create student-paced presentations with audio, stop-motion animations, posters, infographics, handouts, non-linear presentations, and much more. 


• Cultivating Classroom Community 

This module focuses on strategies to create classroom community and build relationships by providing a variety of low to no-prep activities and techniques to help students feel comfortable with their teacher, classroom, and peers.  Topics covered will include developing structure and expectations in the classroom, student and teacher dynamics, and community-building strategies.

• Google Forms

Google Forms is a survey administration app included in the Google Drive office suite along with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. In addition to the survey feature in forms, Google Forms quizzes can be used to assess students. You can quickly assess your students' understanding with automatic and manual grading tools. This module will review a basic understanding of forms and cover the process of creating a Google Forms quiz.

• Interactive Video Learning with Edpuzzle 

Video learning is becoming an increasingly popular way to learn new information. Adding interactivity to videos ensures students are actively engaged instead of passively watching. This session will provide guidance for using Edpuzzle to add interactivity to videos you want to use with your students, as well as how you can create your own instructional videos using screencasting. 


• Kagan in the Wild

You've been to a Kagan training and you want to start your cooperative learning journey, but how do you move from calling on one to implementing the structures to increase metacognition, create positive social interactions, and create accountability for student engagement? See what Kagan in the Wild looks like with videos of real students participating and reflections from a real classroom teacher who began this journey last year.  This module will give you the opportunity to see where and how to implement structures to transform your classroom into a student-centered and brain-friendly place where kids learn content and social skills.

• Socratic Seminar and Smackdown! 

Socratic Seminar or Socratic Smackdown is a technique that supports student discussion of any topic, at any level, in any language with scaffolded supports to build in student success. This allows for the rules of discourse to be taught, practiced, and then gamified into a way for students to earn points towards their discussion participation.


• Strategies for Checking for Understanding 

How will I know if they are really learning? Formative checks for understanding are an essential element of instruction. Maximize precious instruction time with a variety of tasks that reveal who is getting it and who needs more support. In this module, you will reflect on your current practice and explore ways to make learning more visible. 


• Vocabulary Instructional Strategies

Learning Vocabulary can be difficult for many students.  In this module, you will learn new strategies and some out-of-the-box methods to help students connect to the words they are learning in class.
